These guidelines are for Merrill Corporation customers, vendors, and other parties looking to use Merrill’s trademarks, service marks, trade names, or images in promotional, advertising, instructional, or reference materials, or on their web sites, products, labels, or packaging.
Merrill Connect®, Merrill DataSite®, Merrill Bridge™, and other Merrill Corporation brands are valuable assets and are legally protected in the United States and various jurisdictions around the world. In following these guidelines, you help us protect our trademark rights and strengthen our corporate and brand identities.

Reservation of Rights
Merrill Corporation, reserves all rights with respect to its trademarks, service marks, logos, trade names, and other indicia ("Marks"). By using Merrill Marks, you are acknowledging that Merrill is the sole owner of the Marks and promising that you will not interfere with Merrill’s rights in the Marks, by challenging Merrill’s use, registration of, or application to register such Marks, alone or in combination with other words, anywhere in the world, and that you will not harm, misuse, or bring into disrepute any Merrill Marks.
Authorized Use of Merrill Marks
Only Merrill Corporation may use the Merrill Logo in advertising, promotional, sales materials, publications, seminars, or conferences. Authorized parties may use the Merrill Logo only as specified in their agreement with Merrill provided you comply with the following requirements:
- The use reflects favorably on both Merrill and Merrill services, products or technology.
- Your name and logo appear more prominent than the Merrill trademark, service mark, or trade name on all printed materials.
- Plain-text use of Merrill’s Marks in commercial contexts is appropriate only with references to factual statements as to the nature of any relationship with Merrill, where one exists.
Merrill Trademark List
When using Merrill’s Marks in a document published in the United States, include the proper trademark ™, ℠, or ® symbol on first use. Spell and capitalize Merrill’s trademarks exactly as they are shown in the list of Merrill’s Trademarks. Do not shorten or abbreviate Merrill product names. Do not make up names that contain Merrill Marks.
Do not use Trademark symbols in publications distributed outside the United States. For these publications, use an appropriate trademark attribution notice within those materials, for example: Merrill Connect and Merrill DataSite are trademarks and service marks of Merrill Corp., registered in the U.S. and other countries. Where an unregistered Mark is referenced, use a generic sentence like "trademark and/or service mark of Merrill Corp", that omits the registration portion of the statement.
The following list shows the proper symbol placement for Merrill’s most-frequently referenced Marks. The absence of a product or service name or logo from this list does not constitute a waiver of Merrill’s trademark or other intellectual property rights concerning that name or logo.
