St. Paul, Minn. — Merrill Corporation (www.merrillcorp.com), a global provider of secure content sharing, regulated communications and compliance services, has named Tom Donnelly as the company’s new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Donnelly has more than 25 years of technology experience, largely for software and SaaS companies. He replaces Bob Nazarian, who is retiring after serving Merrill Corporation for the past 15 years as its CFO.
Donnelly will lead Merrill Corporation’s global finance organization and will focus on driving profitable growth, enterprise efficiency and key transformation programs. Donnelly is a proven leader and brings the right global experience in enterprise integration, operational simplification, and migrating to SaaS business models.
“We are excited to have Tom join our senior leadership team at Merrill. I am confident he will be instrumental in improving our global operating effectiveness, expanding into new markets, and accelerating the launch of new technology-enabled products and services for our clients,” said Merrill Corporation CEO Rusty Wiley. “I also want to extend my deep appreciation to Bob Nazarian for his leadership over the past 15 years at Merrill. Bob has been critical to Merrill’s success and we wish him well in the next step of his professional journey.”
“I came to know Merrill Corporation's team of highly driven professionals and world-class products as a client and am thrilled to join Merrill as CFO. From secure content sharing, regulated communications and compliance services, Merrill's complete suite of products uniquely positions it to help its clients achieve success,” said Donnelly. “I look forward to being part of the team that helps Merrill achieve its growth plans.”
Donnelly joins Merrill from Minneapolis-based OptiMine, a leader in cloud-based omnichannel marketing analytics and optimization, where he has served as a director and chief executive officer since 2014. Prior to joining OptiMine, Donnelly led e-commerce company Digital River, where, from 2005 to 2013, he served as the CFO, and later as chief operating officer and president. Donnelly also served as the CFO and later as president and chief operating officer of Minneapolis-based Net Perceptions, Inc. He has held several other finance and transaction-related positions at technology and financial services companies.
Donnelly will be based out of Merrill Corporation's Saint Paul, Minn. headquarters. He is a native of Minneapolis, Minn., and is a graduate of St. Olaf College. Donnelly is also a review board member for the MN Cup, a program and contest designed to support technology entrepreneurs held annually at the Carlson School of Business.
