Global deal value for H1 2015 rose 15.2% over the prior year, according to Mergermarket's Monthly M&A Insider.
The value of global mergers and acquisitions in the first half of 2015 hit a near-record $1.7 trillion, according to Mergermarket's July 2015 Monthly M&A Insider, produced with Merrill Corporation. Higher valuations contributed to a decrease in deal volume compared to H1 2014, but overall H1 deal values increased to a near all-time high. The international technology, media and telecom sector led this growth with a 26.1% increase in deal value, including three deals in the top 10 worth a combined US$131.8 billion.
