Does your organization’s or Insider's EDGAR Company Profile include an up-to-date email address? If not, you could be in for a big hassle that could keep you from filing on time.
SEC announces two-phase authentication for EDGAR Passphrase reset
The SEC recently announced it will implement a two-phase authentication process for resetting EDGAR Passphrases. When a reset request is received, an email containing an electronic security token will be sent to the email address associated with the EDGAR Company Profile. If the email address on file isn’t correct—or if there is no email address on file—it could cause a significant delay since the filer will not receive the security token needed to reset the passphrase. The SEC warns that this manual reset process “may span beyond 48 hours”—a delay that could prevent an organization from filing on time.
Update your EDGAR Company Profile now
Many companies created EDGAR Company Profiles before an email address was a required field. Many others have out-of-date email addresses on file with the SEC. Don’t wait until filing time to correct these issues. If you haven’t done so recently, log in to your EDGAR Company Profile and make sure all information—including the email address—is accurate and up to date. Feel free to contact Merrill Corporation if you have any questions.
