Tony Bednar, Health Insurance Practice Leader, Merrill Corporation | September 26, 2017
Welcome to Merrill’s Health Insurance blog – the news destination for everything important to mandated member communications.
In upcoming entries, I’ll be partnering with some of Merrill Corporation’s in-house experts to share information, best practices and trends that are affecting health plans and their member communications -- especially Section 508 and Section 1557 compliance, government programs and making the move to digital communications.
I look forward to describing proven solutions that are particularly relevant in the current market and are designed to streamline your processes to create efficiencies within your teams. We have stories from our clients of transformative implementation of these solutions that I think you’ll find both compelling and relevant to the work you are doing.
I’ll also use this blog to share news and releases relating to CMS, ACA and others that directly impact your member communications.
Here are just a few of the bloggers you’ll meet along the way:

That’s me! I am Merrill’s Health Insurance Practice Leader. I am continually monitoring the market for any activity that impacts mandated member communications. I provide direction and leadership across our organization to ensure Merrill continues to deliver innovative solutions that meet the industry’s most complex communication needs. I am not alone in my quest. I work with a team of industry subject matter experts to identify and evaluate opportunities to streamline the communications process and improve the member experience.
Gary Iverson –
Gary has over 30 years of experience in operations management, international project management and business consulting. He has been active in 508 accessibility since the legislation was adopted by CMS and HHS. At Merrill, we consider him our resident expert, technology usability driver and advisor for accessibility.
