Rusty Wiley joined Merrill Corporation as chief executive officer in 2014. He comes to Merrill from IBM Corporation, which he joined in 1987. Wiley has extensive experience in executive roles, most recently serving as general manager, banking and financial services for IBM Corporation. During his tenure at IBM, he also held leadership roles involving sales, consulting and general management, including a global business services leadership role, with significant international responsibilities. Prior to his tenure with IBM, he was with EDS Corporation, a multinational information technology company, in sales and marketing roles. Wiley holds an MBA from Duke University Fuqua School of Business and a BS from East Carolina University.
Todd Albright joined Merrill Corporation in 2015 in his current role as chief revenue officer, leading global sales for the company—an organization with 300 professionals spanning every major international market. Prior to joining Merrill, he led a number of complex sales organizations with direct experience in several of Merrill’s core markets, most recently as senior vice president of sales for FIS Global, where he led a team of revenue professionals across North, Central and South America. Albright also held positions as senior vice president and head of sales for ACTIV Financial Systems and vice president and head of global financial services accounts for IntraLinks, a SaaS provider of secure, compliant and auditable content management. He holds a BA from Duke University and an AAS in International Economics from Friedrich-Alexander Universitat Erlangen-Nurnberg.
Lisa Bilcik joined Merrill Corporation in 2009 and now holds the position of general counsel overseeing all business functions. She has broad legal expertise in corporate governance, organizational structure, litigation management, arbitration, intellectual property and other key areas of corporate practice. Bilcik has also spent time in private practice with the law firm of Arthur, Chapman, Kettering, Smetak & Pikala, prior to moving to in-house corporate counsel positions with Federated Insurance Company, Fingerhut Direct Marketing and Internet Broadcasting Systems. She earned her JD from William Mitchell College of Law in Minn. and a BS from South Dakota State University.
Thomas Donnelly joined Merrill Corporation as chief financial officer in 2015. Prior to joining Merrill, he held financial leadership roles, most recently as chief executive officer and director of OptiMine Software, Inc. Donnelly has extensive executive experience in the technology sector, with expertise in operations, strategy and business development, financial planning, accounting and compliance, specializing in high-growth, high-technology companies. He holds an MBA from The Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College and a BS from St. Olaf College in Minn.
Thomas Fredell joined Merrill Corporation in 2015. In his role as chief product officer, he focuses on all aspects of product management and engineering to drive growth and innovation for Merrill’s client-facing solutions, including Merrill DataSite and Merrill Bridge. Fredell joined Merrill from SmithCo Investments, where he was CEO. Prior to his tenure with SmithCo Investments, he was chief technology officer for both Snagajob and IntraLinks. He holds a BA from the University of Virginia and an MBA from The Wharton School at University of Pennsylvania.
Roy Gross joined Merrill Corporation in 1997 and currently serves as chief operating officer of the company’s Marketing and Communications Solutions (MCS) operations, which supports regulated industries including financial services and healthcare member communications. In addition, his organization provides services for sales enablement, real estate marketing, elections and translations. Across his Merrill career, he has served in leadership roles in sales and in the company’s financial services business prior to his current role. He holds an MBA from D’Amore-McKim School of Business at Northeastern University and a bachelor’s degree from Lehigh University in Pennsylvania.
Rod Johnson joined Merrill Corporation in 1997, initially as senior vice president of the legal services group. During his tenure at Merrill, Johnson has held various executive leadership roles in corporate and business development, product management, service and sales. Today, as chief operating officer, he leads the integrated global client services and consulting teams for Merrill DataSite and our transaction and compliance businesses in North America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia. He’s also responsible for Merrill’s servicing company in India. Johnson has extensive experience in the financial service industry, having held various senior leadership roles at Wells Fargo and US Bank. He holds a BS from Minnesota State University, Mankato, MN.
Hilary London joined Merrill Corporation in March 2016 as Chief Revenue Officer, EMEA. She came to us from Morningstar, where she was Head of Sales for EMEA, and delivered significant revenue growth while creating and implementing industry best practices and winning sales strategies. She also held General Manager and Sales Leadership roles with Interactive Data Corporation in EMEA, and delivered consistent revenue growth whilst managing the regional P&L. Hilary has extensive experience in leading multifaceted teams across several disciplines and locations. In March 2017 Hilary was promoted to Acting Managing Director for the EMEA operations.
Katherine Miller joined Merrill Corporation in 2006 with principal oversight of the company’s global accounting functions. Prior to joining Merrill, she held executive positions including chief accounting officer for Nash Finch Company and vice president, controller for Deluxe Corporation, where she was also named chief accounting officer. Miller holds an MBA from the University of Minnesota – Carlson School of Management and a BS from Northern Michigan University.
Alan Scott joined Merrill Corporation in 2015 as chief marketing officer. He has responsibility for Merrill’s marketing efforts, including digital and brand identity and a global focus on B2B programs. Scott has a distinguished track record of increasing revenue and market position through innovative, highly focused programs for a number of leading companies. Prior to joining Merrill, Scott was chief marketing officer for Wolters Kluwer Law and Business and senior vice president and chief marketing officer for Dow Jones Enterprise Media Group, where he was responsible for overall global marketing strategy and execution. Additionally, he was chief marketing officer for Factiva, a business information and research tool owned by Dow Jones & Company. Scott holds a BA from Wittenberg University in Ohio.
Brad Smuland, who joined Merrill Corporation in 2001, has spent more than three decades in the technology field. As chief information officer, he’s responsible for Merrill’s global technology services, infrastructure and information security. He also leads product management and engineering for internal systems. Prior to joining Merrill, where he also served as vice president, technology, Smuland worked with a number of global organizations including Pillsbury Corporation, Grand Metropolitan and Honeywell. He holds a degree from Bethel University in Minn.
Brenda Vale joined Merrill Corporation in 1998. As executive vice president and chief administrative officer, she oversees human resources, facilities, security governance and risk, and sourcing. Prior to her current role, Vale held a number of executive positions across Merrill, including vice president of strategic sourcing and director of compensation and benefits.
Nancy Yu joined Merrill Corporation in June 2015. In her current role, she is responsible for Merrill’s overall business performance in the Asia Pacific Japan region. Putting a strong emphasis on understanding client needs and market opportunities, she directs product, client service and sales teams to focus on the requirements, priorities and investment that will accelerate growth across Merrill APAC. Prior to this role, Yu was vice president, Portfolio Management for CITIC Private Equity Fund Management Company (CITICPE), headquartered in Beijing, where she oversaw business performance and building sales management capability for a number of business to business portfolio companies. Yu holds both Bachelor and Master degrees from the University of Hong Kong.
