St. Paul, Minn. — Merrill Corporation (www.merrillcorp.com), a leading global provider of technology-enabled services for the financial, legal, health care, real estate and other corporate markets, announced today that Sunny Sun has joined the company as their first Mandarin-speaking XBRL consultant. Sun will focus on servicing clients with XBRL requirements in the Asia marketplace from the offices of Merrill IFN, the company’s Hong Kong-based joint venture partner.
In addition to holding an active CPA, Sun received her bachelor’s of science in Economics at Nanjing University, China, and a masters of accounting from The University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, N.C. She comes to Merrill from her previous position with Ameriprise Financial Inc. where she was a senior accountant in Financial Reporting. Prior to Ameriprise, Sun worked as a senior auditor for Deloitte and Touche LLP.
In her new position at Merrill, Sun will provide XBRL consulting services to clients in Greater China, where Mandarin-language skills may be a prerequisite for effective collaboration with issuers.
