Merrill Corporation Earns Annual “Best in VDR Technology” Award for Merrill DataSite™ Solution from World Finance Magazine
St. Paul, Minn. — Merrill Corporation, the leading global provider of technology-enabled services for the legal, financial, health care, real estate and other corporate markets, today announced that Merrill DataSite™, the premier virtual data room (VDR) for mergers, acquisitions and other related business transactions used by the world’s leading deal makers, has received the “Best in VDR Technology” award at World Finance magazine’s 2008 Annual Awards.
Every year, World Finance magazine, an industry leader and respected voice in financial circles, gathers a diverse team of industry and financial experts to assess thousands of votes for top performers submitted by industry colleagues, companies and clients. World Finance’s awards are recognized across the globe and are seen as evidence of outstanding efficiency and integrity within each sector.
“We are honored to receive the ‘Best in Technology’ award for our virtual data room solution,” said Ed Bifulk, president of Merrill DataSite, “As a global company and acknowledged leading provider of virtual data rooms (VDRs) for the financial services industry, we’re delighted that our solutions continue to be recognized as best-in-class.”
Merrill DataSite is a virtual data room that is used for the organization and exchange of sensitive information between buyers and sellers during a merger or acquisition, as well as transactions such as IPOs, secondary offerings and bankruptcies. Virtual data rooms empower companies to quickly and efficiently review relevant information and facilitate business transactions across borders.
In addition to the World Finance award, it is believed that Merrill DataSite is the first virtual data room to receive the ISO 27001 certification for its comprehensive Information Security Management System (ISMS). The ISO 27001 standard, developed by the International Organization for Standardization to establish international requirements for information security and certification of ISMS, is designed to ensure effective protection of information assets in foreign markets, across national and regional boundaries.
