Accounts Receivable Manager

Status: Full Time
Shift: 1st shift ( M-F)
Location: MN-St. Paul

Responsibilities

The cash applications accounting manager is responsible for applying cash receipts to open accounts receivable for all US businesses. Additionally, the manager maintains centralized accounts receivable data, provides calculations and support for bad debt and sales credit reserves and assists with audit requests. Ability to work independently with business unit managers and attention to detail is required. Qualified candidates must be process oriented, customer focused, have a good understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principals (GAAP) and will have a strong desire and ability to embrace change.

Qualifications

•Manages the team (currently six) – provide professional development and career advancement opportunities and training. •Ensure that daily cash applications process is maintained. Monitor data within the Oracle AR module as well as other systems. •Resolve unapplied cash issues / questions. •Provide assistance on projects to improve effectiveness such as integrating acquisitions. •Recommends changes in methods or procedures to improve the efficiency of accounts receivable Monthly accounting responsibilities: •Calculate monthly allowance for bad debt and sales credit reserves. Communicate with collections and business leaders regarding the reserve adjustments. Maintain audit documentation for reserve analyses. •Review and approve journal entries •Review and approve account analysis and reconciliations •Report to business units regarding monthly activities Strategic abilities: •Customer service focused •Strong written and oral communication skills •Must be able to effectively cope with change •High level of integrity and trust •Dedication to needs of the total organization •Self motivating and ability to motivate others through example

•Bachelor degree in accounting •Transactional processing and/or accounting experience •Strong Excel skills •Aptitude to ERP systems environments •Previous Oracle experience a plus
